This web-site was created to improve the public knowledge in the field of animal fungal diseases (mycoses, mycotoxicoses, mycogenic allergies); to help to veterinary practitioners and animal’ owners in diagnosis and treatment of fungal diseases; to share and interchange the scientific and practical experience in the field of veterinary mycology.

Our site Vetmycology.ru contains the reference information on animal fungal diseases, leading scientific articles, practical recommendations, photogallery, actual F.A.Q. on animal fungal diseases, communication and interaction functions.

About authors (credits). This web-portal Vetmycology.ru is created and supported by workers of Veterinary Mycology Department of FSE “VGNKI” (Federal state Establishment “The All-Russia State Center for Quality and Standardization of animal medicines and feeds”). Our unit took up the leading position in the field of veterinary mycology in Russia, in both theoretical and practical approaches.

We carry out the researches in the following fields:
- Study of aetiology, occurrence and epidemiology of mycoses in domestic animals;
- Diversity of pathogenic species of fungi, keeping the Culture collection of  clinically important fungi;
- Virulence and immunology of  clinically important fungi;
- Elaboration of the vaccines and immunomodulators against mycoses in animals;
- Opportunistic animal mycoses, caused by moulds, yeasts and actinomycetes.
- Study of latent fungal carrying in domestic animals.

Our official functions are:
- Safety & Quality State control of animal medicines against mycoses, which are distributing on the territory of Russian Federation;
- Official State registration and certification of veterinary antifungal drugs;
- Official inspection and attestation of manufacturers of veterinary antifungal drugs.

We perform the following applied studies:
- Laboratory diagnosis of animal mycoses;
- Identification of fungal species, susceptibility to antifungal drugs testing;
- Detection of asymptomatic fungal carrying in animals;
- Detection of fungal contamination of foods, feeds, raw materials for foods and feeds and other substrates, environmental fungal contamination.
- Other applied studies in the field of veterinary mycology.

Our future prospects:
- In vitro model of  immune reactions against fungi’
- Immunotherapy of opportunistic mycoses;
- Fungi as the risk factors in foods, feeds and environment.
